When I was first e-mailed I thought it was spam... I mean
really New York Times wanted to talk to me about
my Hunt for Saturdayfinds not! But when I e-mailed back
you give me your phone number and I'll call you
and she did! That's when I knew it was for real
Next they arranged a photographer from the N.Y. Times
to come to my house and photograph me and all
my loot. I had to stash away the Christmas collectibles
and bring out some of my latest treasures. The photographer
took a lot of pics and today I was surprised to find
such a large one of myself.. and no photoshop retouching darn!
I have been buying and selling collectibles for a very long time
so needless to say I am thrilled to be published...
It's Going to be a Very Good Year.
I mean how could it not after this~

Whoa doggies!! Ain't you somethin'!!
Really, I've always been impressed with your finds and the wonderful things you do with them...isn't it nice to know the big dogs think so too?! I don't think you could ask for much better advertisement than that...Oprah may be calling soon!

Yea, Good for you, but hold on to your hat! Now here is how it works, I was in the local paper in August, but then over the next 2 months the article was syndicated to papers all of the country. People kept popping into my website and blog telling me they saw me in their local paper. So many wonderful bloggers sent me their articles.

What fun Merry Christmas

So sister in law brought me a copy of the article on Christmas. She said she thought of me because I am a "picker and junk" collector.

Hi Diane,
I finally got time to read the whole NY Times article and am so impressed! I love that you have such a good eye you can turn a small purchase (the ballerinas) into a nice profit, AND that you were doing this before the economy went bad! You also look lovely in your photo. Congratulations on well-deserved recognition!
