Vintage Inspired Putz Houses

I was lucky enough to answer an ad on our local Facebook Marketplace and snag
4 Vintage Inspired holiday houses that needed some Up-cycling!

And even though its Halloween and I did do a bit of
Fall Decorating mostly because we were expecting
a couple of sets of out of town guests.

Here's the Wreath I made for our Front Porch!

I was anxious to get started on the holiday houses and I had
another Christmas creation swirling around in my head.
So I brought down my tub of Christmas crafting supplies from the attic!
And got Started!

I thought the pink sushi wrap paper would
work perfect for the icicles dripping of the roof top!

The other 3 are in more Traditional Christmas colors I'll get some
pictures and share them on my next Blog Post..
In the meantime hope your enjoying the cooler temps
and excitement of the Holidays!

Fire Up the Hot Glue Gun

Late Night Creating in the Home Studio

The other day I picked up a few bags of
little treasures at my local Vintage Shop.
I thought these sweet Vintage Birthday Candle
Holders would be perfect to add to a Creative project.

So Inspiration for me started with these...

And then I started pulling tubs from the shelves in my Home Studio
Picked out a yellow and tiny pink mushroom

Searched through my tub of vintage millinery.

Yes, I needed to pull out the tub with the small vintage trims

I was going to need Chenille. And yes
I have more then one tub of that yummy plush
vintage Bump Chenille in an assortment of colors!
I just love the old vintage supplies.

And some Crepe Paper Ruffles
I have a tub of ruffles in the studio
pre done and ready for future craft projects.

And then I was inspired and ready to get Creative!

I got the hot glue gun fired up and started creating.
The Birthday Kitschy Kitten Keepsake is the finished product!

You see it only takes something small to find that inspiration.
If you find yourself in a creative rut look around something small might
just stir up those creative juices and your ready to Create!

Hope you all find the time to get creative this week.
And maybe enjoy a cup of tea in the Garden....
With all the stress in the world right now I find
those to be a great stress reliever!

Love,

Saved from the Bins!

Rescuing Memories

It's not just about rescuing vintage dolls before they
disappear in the bottom of the thrift store bin.
It's about restoring the heartwarming memories
& childhood imagination that comes along with them.
Breathing new life in lost forgotten treasures.
Most of the Nancy Ann Storybook Dolls are at least 86 years old!

If I find them in the perfect collectors condition
I either add to my own collection or find them a new home.

Over the years I have been gifted some collections
from a family member that just didn't know what to
do with their Mothers Collection.

These Bisque dolls needed a cleaning the dress's
were either soiled or had some wear
typical over time.

So in those situations I wash iron the dress and
add some ribbon and bling giving
the Doll a chance to be loved
all over again!

And yes some come to me broken
the half bodies I have used to make mermaids.
And the ones that need to be re-strung well
I actually figured out how to tackle that!

Here is a glimpse of just that!

Some of the "Special Ones" added to my collection
are the Gifted ones. These were sent from a dear friend
all the way from Alaska to California!

The little Blonde in the Yellow dress will need
a bit of Upcycling maybe add some hair
she lost over the years.

Its funny when I was young I never had a Storybook Doll.
I had a Ginny Doll and I loved her. (She needs to be re-strung)
But my two older sisters had a Storybook Doll and I always
loved the pretty polka dot boxes they came in.

When ever I spot an orphan out in the wild
if the price is fair I'll rescue it!

My Best,

Well hello out there in cyberspace ...
Anyone there anymore? Did you miss me??
Do you remember me?

Its been way to long since I did a Post on My Blog
Truth be told I was kinda locked out of it,
things changed with Blogger and I was stumped
on how to get back into my Blogger platform..

I tried numerous times and no luck.
But then today, yes just today my sister from Cottage Cozy called
me and said "you've got some very strange comments on your Blog"
Ok I thought let me try again I got out my trusty password book
and re-logged in and BAM! it worked so here I am back at it!

Of course a lot has happened in the world in my life since my last post
But let's skip to the good part!

I desperately wanted to share my recent Marketplace Find!
And I have to find like mind people that would
think like myself these are the cutest little Easter
Honeycomb baskets!

It always amazes me how any of these paper ornaments have survived
over the years. Very happy someone somewhere did treat them with
care so that people like us could treasure them once again!

I bought just 6 the seller had more, but keeping within my budget
and my Easter Tub down to one!
I resisted the temptation... was definitely hard!
Well they arrived today in the mail!

each one stamped JAPAN
I knew you would like them!

Well It looks like Ive got some work to do on my
Blog to really make it working they way it used to
I plan on figuring that out. And I will keep posting
so please lets get this community ok like-mind
individuals back together again.

Wish Me Luck
